Volunteer

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

Serving is one of NewLife's Core Values and there are many opportunities at NewLife to do just that. Whether it is in KidzLife, NewLife Students, on our greeting team or somewhere else, we want to help you find the opportunity that best suits your interests, personality, passion, and schedule. If you believe NewLife is the place for you and you are ready to serve, let us know.

Guest Experience
The Guest Experience Team exists as one of the primary ministry teams to help carry out the mission of NewLife Church by creating welcoming and inviting spaces so people can become fully devoted followers of Jesus.  The ministry of our Guest Experience Team begins the moment guests arrive on our campus! From the parking lot to the auditorium, we have the privilege of connecting with each person and creating a space where they feel valued and ready to receive the Gospel.

There are many opportunities to serve on this team! Take a moment to read through the different serving categories and discover which area best fits your gifts and interests.

Greeter Team
Greeters warmly welcome and engage guests at the lobby and auditorium doors, creating a friendly first impression. They anticipate needs, offer assistance, and are empowered to step away from their posts to personally guide guests to their destinations. Greeters are encouraged to go the extra mile, finding creative ways to make everyone feel valued and at home.

Connect Team
Connect Team Members serve as the primary source of information at Guest Services in the lobby, assisting guests with event registration, Kidzlife registration, and helping them make meaningful connections. This team remains stationed in the lobby throughout the gathering, welcoming late arrivals and those who may step out, ensuring a smooth and inviting experience for everyone. Team members are encouraged to attend the gathering they are not scheduled to serve in, as they are expected to stay in the lobby for the duration of the service when serving.

Seeker Team
The Seeker Team is intentional about finding and connecting with individuals who seem alone, unsure, or standing off to the side. They actively walk the lobby and auditorium before, during, and after service, looking for opportunities to engage. By offering a warm welcome, answering questions, and introducing guests to others, they help ensure everyone feels seen, valued, and connected—creating the best possible worship experience.

Coffee Team
The Coffee Crew brings the energy (and caffeine!) to every gathering, creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone. You’ll brew and set up coffee and tea essentials, making sure there’s plenty available for the worship gatherings throughout the morning. It’s a fun and essential role that fuels our church family – one cup at a time!
Security
The security team exists as one of the specialized ministry teams to help carry out the NewLife Church mission by playing a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who attends our gatherings. The security team is responsible for monitoring the entire building, including the lobby, Kidzlife areas, and auditorium, to ensure the safety of everyone. While staying alert and observant, security team members maintain a calm, friendly, and approachable presence, helping attendees feel secure and at ease.
Worship Team
The worship team leverages music to help lead our church family into meaningful worship. Whether singing or playing an instrument, this team serves by pointing people to Jesus and helping create an atmosphere of worship during services.
Production Team
The production team supports worship and teaching through sound, lighting, video, and media. This behind-the-scenes team plays a huge role in creating a distraction-free experience that helps people engage with what God is doing.
Prayer Team
The NewLife prayer team is a group of dedicated volunteers committed to covering our church, leaders, and community in prayer. This team faithfully lifts up prayer requests, intercedes during services and events, and believes in the power of prayer to bring hope, healing, and transformation. "We stand our tallest when we are on our knees" - Yolanda, Prayer Team Lead.
KidLife
The Kidzlife ministry team partners with parents to help children learn about Jesus in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Team members help lead activities, teach Bible lessons, and create spaces where kids feel loved and excited to come to church.
Student Ministry Leader
The Student ministry team invests in the next generation by building relationships with middle and high school students. This team helps create a welcoming environment where students can grow in their faith, ask questions, and feel supported. Students meet every Sunday night from 5pm-7pm.
LifeGroup Leader
LifeGroup leaders shepherd a small group of individuals by leading Bible-centered discussions, fostering authentic community, and helping people take next steps in their walk with Christ. They play a vital role in discipleship and spiritual formation at NewLife Church. These groups can be held here on our church campus as well as in homes.
Target Leader / Facilitator
A Living on Target facilitator leads and guides a group through a 12-week intentional discipleship group focused on spiritual growth, accountability, and living out God’s purpose in a way that is well pleasing to Him. Facilitators create a safe environment for discussion, prayer, and personal transformation while helping shape the spiritual culture of NewLife Church by modeling biblical living and authentic community.
Communications Team
The heartbeat of storytelling at our church is the communications team which captures powerful moments through photography and videography. Whether it’s highlighting worship, kids, events, or testimonies, this team helps share the story of God’s work in our church.
Discipleship Childcare
Our discipleship childcare ministry provides a safe, loving environment for children while parents participate in small groups and discipleship opportunities. This ministry makes it possible for families to grow together by removing a major barrier for parents who desire to invest in their spiritual growth. These events are outside of our Sunday morning service on various dates and times.
NL Academy Leader
NL Academy provides opportunities for people to dive deep into a variety of biblical topics throughout the year, and we are always looking for qualified leaders to facilitate these studies. We offer many ready-to-use courses that leaders can study and prepare to teach to others. Courses range from a single two-hour session to a twelve-week study, depending on the course you choose to lead. We would love to provide more information—just reach out to us!
MEETUP Leader
MEETUPS are just plain fun! We love our Bible studies and diving deeper into God’s Word, but simply hanging out and enjoying life together matters too. MEETUPS are designed for fellowship only and are a great way to meet new people and build relationships. We’re always looking for leaders to host outings like bowling, hiking, sporting events, and more.
Local and Foreign missions
Serving through local and global missions gives you the opportunity to take the love of Christ beyond the walls of the church and into our community and the world. From local outreach projects to international mission trips, these opportunities allow you to share hope, serve others, and be part of what God is doing across the street and around the globe.
No matter your background, schedule, or experience, there’s a place for you to serve at NewLife. Serving is one of the best ways to grow, build relationships, and be part of what God is doing here.
